If I could give 10 I would. GREAT GREAT GREAT. My sister and I met Ernie (father) and he took our rig in and evaluated it and taught us what he was doing and WHY. Not once did he ever look down on us like a lot of mech do to women. But treated us with dignity respect and most of all honesty. We will be lifelong clients. I have full confidence in his suggestions and work. Really excited about finding this jewel of a place.

Any time we have need of mechanical work on either of our cars, we take them here first. The guys at Performance Specialties are fantastic! They are all very knowledgable and don't try to convince you to do things that are not really necessary. Even though they are always busy, it rarely takes more than a day to get the work done, and is always less expensive than we think it will be. Ernie knows how to run a "well oiled" shop (pun intended) with honesty and integrity. As long as we're in the San Diego area, we will always take our vehicles to him to get them fixed correctly the first time.

Pretty good. Sometimes their parts seem to be overpriced however sometimes they are cheaper then everywhere else in town. Honest, the only reason why they don't get 5 stars is because they always seem to take FOREVER to call me back.

Quality service. Will give advice on how to do repairs yourself to save you some cash and great about holding vehicle without "storage fees" until you get paid if needed. Perfect for poor folk like us : )

They are the best auto repair and smog check in ALL of San Diego! They are 100% Honest - they never recommend anything you don't need. They are a family operated business with three generations working there. I would not take my car anywhere else!

Have used these guys for years. Reasonable. Very honest. Easy to talk to and explain everything in detail. I have also used them for Smog Checks for the past few times. It is not the cheapest price for a smog test, but well worth the extra care and the assurance of honesty -- no repairs will be suggested that are not necessary.
